Emily Dickervitz Selected to the Rhode Island Governor’s Coaching Corps
Congratulations to Job Seeker Consultant Emily Dickervitz for being selected to the Rhode Island Governor’s Coaching Corps. The Corps is an annual leadership program for workforce development professionals who advise unemployed and underemployed job seekers and students in Rhode Island.
Project Director Deborah Anthes said, “It was a competitive process as they accepted a percentage of the nominees. Emily is now part of the first group of Rhode Island Governor’s Coaching Corps. I am very confident that she will represent our organization and the Rhode Island program well.”
As a Corps Coach, Emily will participate in an eight-month curriculum where she will be assigned to an Action Team to work on an innovative product or approach to improve career services. She will also have the opportunity to attend virtual and in-person retreats, where she will receive in-depth leadership training in topics such as emotional and positive intelligence, communication, and coaching skills. The Corps also provides Coaches with access to expert webinars with training in topics such as digital tools, case management approaches, and resources to better serve job seekers. At the end of the eight-weeks, Action Teams present their recommendations to state leaders.
Emily said, “I’m very grateful that Deborah nominated me to participate in this professional development opportunity. I’m excited to improve my case management style and bring ideas back to the team so we can all better help Rhode Island get back to work.”
