Equus Celebrates National Education Support Professionals Day

To celebrate National Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day, we would like to recognize and show appreciation for the amazing work of our Job Corps Center (JCC) support staff. While our JCCs have moved to distance learning, ESPs have been busy preparing campuses for the day when students can return to in-person learning. During the pandemic, ESPs are sanitizing school buildings, supporting distance learning, calling students to see how they’re coping, and so much more. Learn how Evanid Nieves is creating opportunities and changing lives at the Arecibo JCC in Garrochales, Puerto Rico.

Evanid has been with the Arecibo JCC since January 2020. From day one, she has been dedicated to her role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Instructor providing her students with a top-notch education and working long hours to help them succeed. To ensure her students have a stimulating and enjoyable atmosphere for learning, she uses her own money to decorate her classroom without expectation of reimbursement. Students and staff admire her strong work ethic and her giving and compassionate attitude.
