The Way We Lead – Wayne Williams and the Eastern Indiana Works Team

Equus One-Stop Operator Wayne Williams and his team at Eastern Indiana Works are always looking for ways to give back to the community in Muncie, IN.

Each year during November, they collect and donate food to a local shelter so families can enjoy a nice Thanksgiving. He said, “This past year, I wanted to continue the good holiday vibes with collecting clothing for battered women and their children living at a local shelter, especially since we’ve had such a difficult year. Unfortunately, two different organizations I approached were either closed or weren’t taking donations due to COVID-19, so we decided to donate the clothing to the Muncie Mission, which serves women, children and men.”

A large number of Equus staff, state partner staff and Eastern Indiana Works board staff donated to the cause. Donated items included new winter hats, gloves, coats and gently used clothing for children.

The clothing drive was a huge success, and after seeing the post on LinkedIn, a partner reached out to Wayne asking if they could also donate clothing to Eastern Indiana Works for those in need.
